Since first starting experimenting with neural networks while at university, Shannon has long been interested in the field of AI. This interest led to founding Gray Sky AI and his research into autonomous agents and agentic workflows. He is actively involved in the AI community, participating in several IEEE working groups developing standards for Artificial Intelligence in areas such as agent interoperability, safety guidelines, and education. Shannon's experience as a leader at the junction between technology and business on large software projects has provided him a grounded perspective on how AI will influence business.
